The Tomoyoishi-Endo is one of three japanese restaurants opened 30 years ago by Mr. Endo in Milan and which was subsequently sold to Mr. Kato Shozo. The restaurant is situated in “Via Sacco 4”, at the end of the more famous street “Via Marghera”. It was here that I tasted the Japanese food for the first time. Since then, I have eaten at least an hundred times there.
Tomoyoshi-Endo looks like the typical sushi bar, with wooden furniture and without table cloths. It is not a fashionable and sophisticated place. The atmosphere is cosy and quiet. In a sunny day it is the perfect place for a business lunch. The restaurant side in front of the street has a huge window with a door in place of a classic wall.
The waiters and waitresses wear a white and yellow uniform. They are incredibly polite, but not always do they have an adequate knowledge of the Italian language and none of them can speak English. For this reason, ordering the food may be a little nightmare. The service is often slow.
The food is tasty, cheap and consistent. The quality of ingredients is excellent. At Tomoyoshi-Endo you have the same food experience of eating in a Japanese restaurant in Tokyo or Kobe. Besides, you can eat the traditional sushi there.
The lunch menu is limited, you can only choose among 6 dishes:

Tomoyoshi-Endo is a first choice in order to eat a healthy and cheap “slowfood” Japanese lunch. I have had lunch there for 10 years, and I have never left the restaurant disappointed.
